During our second day in Sapa, we went for another medium trekking trip down the charming old French hill station. Walking 6 to 7 hours down the valley, following foot paths up and down mountains, through forest, terraced rice paddies, crossing river and water streams by suspension bridges… from village to village of different ethnic minorities including H’mong, Zao, Zay, Tay… It all started with a beautiful morning~

hey cheryl, is it only in sapa that the villagers are dressed in these outfits?
I think yes, because they are the minority ethnics of Vietnam, mostly are the Black Hmong tribe. Their tribe costume is worn as the outermost layer, inside they wear t-shirt and other clothes to keep warm. These people love being in their own world very much, although they are poor. Majority of them refuse to leave Sapa and choose to live in the Fansipan hills until the end of life. If you happen to go to Hanoi, spare 2 days for Sapa, else you'll regret.
