Ice-breaking in the desert

We went to Kasbah Le Mirage for our teambuilding. It's actually a hotel, but we turned the area into our ice-breaking ground!

How appropriate it is - breaking the ice in the desert!
Definitely we're gonna melt the ice~

Especially under the hot sun.

Everyone's about to melt...

Thus my sunshades did not leave my face at all...else I'd be blind.

So here's my team - Ouarzazate. It's a place in Morocco. All the teams were named after the cities of Morocco.

Torture and fun were about to begin... Challenges ahead.

Quadbiking!

And donkey polo~

There's always someone who was thrown off the donkey. OUCH~~

I rode on a donkey too.. But this one was stubborn. It didn't wanna move at all.

We had riffle shooting too..

And again...CAMEL RIDING~

I did the wall climbing as well. Not that easy, and I broke all my finger nails.

Water carrier race. Still have to dress up like a copacabana moron and run fetching the water..

While I was fooling around in that colorful hat! Hahha..

The best thing throughout the whole session -- WATER!!!

Be dead dehydrated if they didn't set up this bar for fluid supply.

And what more??

Bring down the tent and build it again!!!

And 2 rounds of volleyball match.

If you think Jaap's the person who enjoyed the most...then you're definitely wrong. He and our photographer were the busiest persons who were running around the desert to capture photos and videos of all 10 teams!

Camel riding day and night

Princess Cheryl's thought of the day:- Jetlag's not over yet...shit!

First experience of riding a camel (actually a dromedary, only 1 hump) - fun!

BUT STINKY!

I've been dreaming of camel riding since years ago after watching The Mummy. Pyramids and camels...always on my list of things to do. However this time I was not in Egypt, but Morocco. Anyway, still desert. =)

Adorable? Of course they are. But I bet you won't like their smell.

Heading to Kasbah Le Mirage for the teambuilding!

So that's all about it?

NO WAY!!

Evy gave us another big surprise in the evening...

An exclusive Moroccan soirée in the middle of the desert!!! And how did we get there?

RIDING ON A DROMEDARY!~

No kidding. All dressed up in "djellaba" and "chech" and off we go~

Can you imagine?? 101 dromedaries with 106 Philips family members riding on them~ (some people chose to walk..)

From evening...

Until night...

Just because of this special soirée....

And guess what...2 hours of camel riding because some of us lost the way and we had to wait for each other in the dark..

The only direction to follow was this light path...amazing!! And we made it. =)

I'm finally in Marrakech

It's 4pm local time at Marrakech and I'm super damn sleepy now...after flying for ~20 hours plus the total 16 hours transit time. Just wanna do a quick update on where I am right now. Just reached the airport at 11.15pm the local time yesterday night...and went to bed only at ~2pm due to jetlag.

Am at Kenzi Menara Palace Hotel, Marrakech, Morocco.

Hotel is damn big and damn expensive. I've never stayed in a £300+ suite before and I'm one of the lucky ones to get an upgrade due to the fully booked room in the hotel. Heehee... Right now everywhere we walk in the hotel we will bump into our colleagues from all over the world. Kenzi Menara Palace is now filled with the QIC finalists!~

No time to tour around yet, and also not getting any liquors yet...so, cheers with the Moroccan Mint tea! Cheers~ By the way, it's sweet, and I like it.

Princess going to Marrakech

Princess Cheryl's thought of the day:- Stupid SQ homepage still under maintenance!!! Come on I wanna check-in lar!

Tic toc...tic toc... I'm counting down to another 2 days. Months before I didn't even think of what will I do in Marrakech. Why? Because I didn't expect we could make it all the way to the World Finals.

Tomorrow (Monday), 8 of us will be flying off to Morocco. Chose to transit through London on a A380!!! Another new experience huh. Am aiming for the upper level aisle seats..hehe.. Walking the stairs in an airbus??! Definitely my first time. Guess I'm gonna post some photos of the interior next week.

So these posters ain't just a dream to me anymore!!

SEE YOU IN MOROCCO!
