The Princess Wedding Diaries - in transition 。公主嫁到 - 迁移篇

Finally in July 2010 I'm engaged and now it's time for me to start a new chapter in my Princess Diaries. My best friend Michelle (or Michelle Anne) honored me with the invitation to be her Maid Of Honor in this Nov, so I kept a series of MOH diaries. By then, I told myself that I'm gonna start my own series of Wedding diaries after completed my task as her MOH. Counting down to another 2 months, I'll be walking down the aisle with joyous blessings to her as a bride-to-be, and I can't wait to be there for her bridal shower! *hearts*

So now it's a transition period from MOH to a bride-to-be, and she's even more excited than myself does. =) What a sister. Lately we're discussing about topics of wedding, and it's funny when we discovered some bride-to-be suddenly behave so awkwardly after announcing their engagement. Some started to become too envious and proud of themselves being a bride. What matters is you are happy with your own wedding preparation, style, ideas, comfy ways... Quite sad to see these people comparing, suspicious about the wedding stuffs or sometimes burst the entire lifestyle. We term these people - Bridezillas. =P Good one!

I'm impressed by Vintage gowns, like Vera Wang's...oooo... I love organza, lace, sequins and details in the fabric. Been searching for Vintage designs and hoping to find one in Aspial later on. To be realistic, tailor made white gown is not in my list, my budget varies from Mich's as the whole wedding thingy is different. I have to spare $$　for Maldives (bloody expensive, I wish I'm earning USD). But it's ok, I love DIY stuffs, add more soul to the item when it's full of love. Gonna handmade my reception stuffs. Wanna create a WOW effect to the attendees because I'm bored of conventional wedding dinner...

Finally Mich's wedding pic is up. =) How sweet and elegant she is...as always. And guess what, her wedding pics are used for commercial adv of Bridal Concept for the wedding magazine MY WEDDING! I just called her and she didn't even know it was so fast. I knew that her shots were chosen for adv but just not expecting it would be so fast.

So that's the first time that I visited Valerie Fan's Wedding Gallery. I can say that she's really highly recommended. Elegant design and high quality material. It's pricey...but worth it! =)

Diaries of the Maid of Honor (16-June-10)

Now... the hair-do...

Today I just received another wedding invitation from my childhood sista Caren. She's marrying a Mauritian! Cool.. However due to the last minute invitation (she's really really busy flying all over the globe..a stewardess), I can't make it to her wedding... (+.+)

Regarding Mich's wedding, I've started to think about how the MoH's hair should look like. Perhaps one of the below? I don't wanna tie a bun because my face is chubby (still..although I've lost quite a bit of fat after these years), and it will definitely spoil the beauty of our dress. Furthermore Mich should be the prettiest and shine like a diva/princess on her big day, so I should just let my hair down. Afterall my natural wavy hair is not that bad though. I don't need a curler at all, that's even simpler to spare some time for the morning make-up eh.. =)

Personally I like Carrie Underwood's partial up-do the most (second row the first one)! Mich also agreed that it suits me. I think it's gonna shape up and make my face looks a little longer too~ Else, the third row first one also not bad. Ish...being a MoH is not easy at all. So many things to consider and to survey. But I'm enjoying it!

Blessings to you my dear sis. In 8 hours time, you will be officially Mrs. Khoo. =) I'm really really sorry that I couldn't make it to your R.O.M. (d*mn... I'm the worst best friend ain't I) Thanks to the stupid vendor who had dragged the timeline to fix my machine (which was suppose to be 2 weeks earlier) and reschedule twice until screw up my plan! Anyway don't let the unhappy stuffs ruin the wedding mood. I've never been happier to see you finally found your Prince Charming!

DR. KHOO， YOU'RE ONE OF THE MOST BLESSED MEN ON EARTH TO FIND SUCH A GREAT WIFE! She's all yours after tomorrow, but I'm still part of her life because things will never change between the best friends. Learn to accept that ok? =P

You know what... recently more and more of my ex-classmates and friends are getting married. Well, more accurately, already had their R.O.M. 2 of my best friends are joining the wife's club this year. And so I've started to get questioned about when is my turn... >_<

I've always have this illusion that one day I'll be going off for holiday somewhere and by the time I'm back home ~*POOF!!* sUrpRiseD!!! I'M MARRIED!! Don't faint yea..

I love my life to be full of surprises, and I don't mind being unprepared for some really big surprises! I'm at most of the time underestimated, and people can't guess what's up with me next. I love doing things differently, and that's why I only have very few best friends, because it's true when people say --- one of a kind. My best sisters behave differently, and that made us click.

Gosh...what kinda diary am I writing today??!! Just blabbing... I'm really bad, still haven't go for the gown fitting yet.

Chapter 1 - The Preparation Goes On (dresses and gowns)

Well well... how should I begin here. As my sister Mich is getting married soon, the bridesmaids have been busy discussing and preparing for the wedding stuffs. For myself, yes it's MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING! I've always fancy wedding theme movies since teenage days, because I have always wondered how beautiful and warmhearted a wedding will be, especially when I have the chance to be a bridesmaid. I've been watching 5x time or more on some of the following movies -- My Big Fat Greek Wedding, 27 Dresses, My Best Friend's Wedding, The Wedding Singer, and blah blah blah -- simply because I love the dresses and gowns, and the wedding preparations and settings~

Finally I'm half way through the days of becoming the maid of honor for sister Mich, exactly 7 months from today before I fit into the bridesmaid dress and holding the bridesmaid hand bouquet. So much things to do, as it's not just another normal wedding. I know sis wants a theme as something warm and elegant, a more western style thingy despite the Chinese wedding dinner. It's a church wedding, and we also think it's gonna be really wonderful... I can't wait for the day to come.

Sis picked Valeria Fan as her wedding gown designer, and I really really love you...for the tailor-made 3 pieces of bridesmaid dresses for Ka Meng, Mei Theng and myself. It's not something cheap...you've been saving $$ for your wedding and now our dresses are eating up a portion of your wedding expenses.. I know you wouldn't wanna allow us to say NO for the dresses, so I'll accept it. =) I know we've had a lot of opinions on the design since you announced your big day and also the wedding theme, but at least we've finalized the color. Hahha... pink, fuchsia, red... all the stunning colors under the hot sun during photography session on your wedding day. I believe you'll have the most stunning entourages on your wedding day, not just your bridesmaids, but also the groomsmen.

Sis I dedicate this series of posts about your wedding specially for you (I know you're lazy to write =P, so I write on your behalf lol). Let's keep all the good memories here, in pictures and words, and when we've become old ladies in future, we can still show our grandchildren about the sisterhood we shared for decades.

Maid of honor 2010

My sister Michelle is getting married in Nov'10! She's definitely one of the most important people in my life; a friendship that lasts for more than a decade is not easy, especially when we only get to meet up once in a blue moon due to distance limitation. Thank you for inviting me as your Maid of Honor, I am more than grateful to be able to walk down the aisle in the church at your wedding.

To my surprise, she sent me a gift. It's a tailor made baby-T from U.S. I love it! Thanks sis~ Now I couldn't wait to see all of the bride's entourages dressed up in Valerie Fan's design masterpiece. :P
