11th July 2010 ~ Streets Come Alive – Unforgettable George Town!

It's my pleasure and responsibility as a Penangite to spread the message around. In conjunction with the celebration of its 2nd anniversary as UNESCO World Heritage Site, Penang government is again celebrating Penang World Heritage Day (7th July) with a series of colorful programs in the George Town area! Naturally, the buildings are the most imposing. Take this chance to walk the heritage trails and feel it! Furthermore you get to taste the colors of Chinese, Malays, Indian, Indian Muslim cuisines on that day. Simply marvelous~ Welcome to Penang, my hometown.

*P.s. I'm gonna miss the street event on 11th because I'll be way up to Colmar Tropicale for birthday celebration (baby's booked my calendar weeks ago). Else I'll be running around the heritage trail with my 10-20mm lens...of course with him.*

If you like Penang and would like to receive more information on Penang tourism and events, join our group in Facebook - Penang Has It All. I'm one of the administrators. Heheh...  v(o.O)v

Now back to food review~ This is Xian Ding Wei in Queensbay Mall. Located next to Sakae Sushi. I heard some bad comments before coming for the first try, but somehow I under expected it. Food was ok, but the recommended 三杯鸡 (direct translate is 3 cup chicken... hahaa) is very delicious. The portion is big for girls, so 3 of us shared 2 sets, yet cannot finish it...

Diaries of the Maid of Honor (16-June-10)

Now... the hair-do...

Today I just received another wedding invitation from my childhood sista Caren. She's marrying a Mauritian! Cool.. However due to the last minute invitation (she's really really busy flying all over the globe..a stewardess), I can't make it to her wedding... (+.+)

Regarding Mich's wedding, I've started to think about how the MoH's hair should look like. Perhaps one of the below? I don't wanna tie a bun because my face is chubby (still..although I've lost quite a bit of fat after these years), and it will definitely spoil the beauty of our dress. Furthermore Mich should be the prettiest and shine like a diva/princess on her big day, so I should just let my hair down. Afterall my natural wavy hair is not that bad though. I don't need a curler at all, that's even simpler to spare some time for the morning make-up eh.. =)

Personally I like Carrie Underwood's partial up-do the most (second row the first one)! Mich also agreed that it suits me. I think it's gonna shape up and make my face looks a little longer too~ Else, the third row first one also not bad. Ish...being a MoH is not easy at all. So many things to consider and to survey. But I'm enjoying it!

Senado Square (Largo do Senado) day and night

Princess Cheryl's thought of the day:- 最近又开始玩唱歌录音了。。

Looking at these Portuguese pavement, it's so easy to guess where I was!

IMG_9955

P1200058

Yes, Largo do Senado in Macau.
Macau, I like to describe it as the little Portugal in Asia.
Last time I stepped on this land was 5 years ago, still I'm deeply in love with this place after 5 years.
Thus I spent the morning and night at this UNESCO World Heritage Site...
...just to capture the beauty of it.

....no...no....no...
一無所有 我的天空
總要在說完再見以後 才開始明白愛多濃
今晚你想念的人是不是我

等你回頭....no...no....no...

。哈哈。

Yummy-licious Hong Kong food hunt (April '10)

Princess Cheryl's thought of the day:- I'm hoping so much that our 'mega project' in year 2011 will be successful! Right Wendy? =)

So here's another crazy long post (photos) about food. Yea, part of my travelog on the most recent trip to Hong Kong. Usually I don't survey much about food when I go travel, just follow the local crowd and there'll be where you can find good food!

IMG_0487
Typical outlook of the local restaurant, they call it "char chan teng", direct translation means tea house.

IMG_0490
Coincidently the hotel that we stayed gave 2 $20 coupons for food per room daily, valid only for that day after the date is stamped, but you can choose to collect one time deal or separate by day.

Soup of the day! My favorite lotus root soup.

I cannot recall all the dishes name like how I did in Macau (sorry la...), but the pictures are enough to tell you what they are and how delicious they are~
