Starwalk 2008

Brought exclusively for you from Princess Cheryl...Penang Starwalk 2008.

Today I break my own record. I mean, I've never drive my stamina to the maximum because of my fast hearbeat rate. My family especially my mom always stop me from doing agressive exercise. I've tried to walk for continuous one hour once, but then today I doubled my record!!! Woohooo~ I finished the route in 1 hour 45 minutes nonstop. =) And coming back in a piece.

Waked up after receiving morning call from my bestie Ching Foong. They're already having breakfast!! You see, my house is just 5 minutes away from PISA (Penang International Sports Arena) so why would I wake up so early??! Going for dim sum at 5.30am?! That's a NO NO for me... Even though Noel said he'd go and ta pau the food, I still insisted that I'd have beverage at home then only meet them up.

The sky was still dark at 6.30am...I really didn't know why would I join this stupid walking competition lor.. Furthermore 'someone' did some mistakes when submitting my participation form and made me a non-competition walker!! Damn it! Only me became the outlyer.

More than 10,000 people participated in this event, and I really couldn't find them in the big crowd. OH NO~~ And then when I registered myself to get the yellow band as a qualified walker, the staff told me that the competition group walkers will start 15 minutes earlier. I felt like wanna strangle that 'someone' to death!

So okay, what can I do?? Luckily I brought along my LUMIX. =) My all time favourite best friend. Not motivated anymore to finish the track, but to snap photos for blogging lor.

I've never seen PISA so beautiful!!



Volunteers have started their tasks. So am I on photografieren.



Others have their group, but I'm alone... *sob sob*



Even the aunties got gang! I called my gang and they'd already started.



So I headed to the starting line and wait for the time to arrive.



Waiting...waiting... Wenzi has not yet reached. So it's impossible that I can get a partner for this walk then...



"READY, GET SET, GO!!"



I walked quite fast as I was hoping to be able to meet up with my gang somewhere on the way because they said they just passed the traffic light at the cross junction of FTZ. I was already reaching the first traffic light in front of Sunshine Square.



Ok, turning right heading towards the airport! But they were already in front of OSRAM. S.H.I.T.



Nothing much to do ler... Oh, airplane~ *snap*



Continue walking~walking~walking~ So I reached the junction in front of my neighbourhood.... Really felt like wanna make a turn and go back to sleep.



Then reach the roadside of Snake Temple. I started to notice that more and more competition group walkers were just in front of me. So was I really that fast?!



Walk walk walk walk and an hour passed. Finally reached TheStar office!!

The first stop is just another few hundred metres away!! I was so damn thirsty. Need to get some isotonic drinks.



100PLUS!!! I couldn't take any photos here because everyone was squeezing to grab a cuppa 100PLUS...



Then the journey continued~ Made a right turn at the airport and now at the second half of the route. Mission to be accomplished because really no turning back lar.



Was stuck in groups of competition walkers. Ok, I did move fast! The road was quiet and peaceful in morning breeze. You can even hear birds chirping. Some people switched on the radio speaker and I had free music too.



So then came the toughest part that I hate hate HATE the most - going uphill!!! Can you see the crowds in front?? Ants walking uphill.



Voluntary staffs standby along the roadside. I really thought of pretending to faint then maybe I can sit in the car and sent straight back to PISA without walking.



Arrgghhh...

Honestly if I need to carry my baby throughout the walk, I rather don't participate. I can be considered committing suicide...I'm not like others.



Yoohoo!!! PISA! PISA!! Can you see that?



Motivation's back because I need water!! But some people's motivation is based on food...running with 2 packets of nasi lemak!!



You know what, this is one of the happiest moment in my life -- the finishing line!!~



FINALLY I FINISHED THE COMPETITION!!! Erm...non-competition.



Time for reunion!! I rushed into the arena to look for my gang. They just arrived 5 minutes before me.



DIGI ballons everywhere. They seemed like had trademarked "yellow".



So what have they got in the booth? Free massage!



The exhausted me~



Breakfast for grab. Coffee..Milo...100PLUS...banana...biscuits...corn flakes in milk...



Now you see and now you don't...I mean the banana.

Blue sky and white cloud... Even the cloud also shaped like banana. Or was I too hungry then?



Resting in front of the swimming arena. Waiting for lucky draw moments.



We went into the arena at 10am. Looks more like a concert going on huh!



They even had Variety Show to entertain the people. Wenzi reached quite late because his gang made a stop in the middle of the competition and went for breakfast...walau!! Then later he went to the Bloggiful Event at Paradise Hotel so he left early.



So this is it. End of our walk and going home without even a prize. See my tired face...but Ching Foong still can smile.



The lucky draw ended at 1pm...so damn long because the emcee was damn cheong hei and the lucky winners were so slow to respond...and so I missed the fishing tournament at Queensbay. Aaarrgghhh!!! Sorry folks...couldn't make it there.

So will I go to Starwalk 2009?? Depends lor...but DEFINTELY A "NO" if I'm being grouped in the non-competition group AGAIN! Hey I'm qualified for the competition group wor!!
