Princess Cheryl's thought of the day:- Finally...I graduated today! I'm now officially a Green Belter~
I happened to clean up one of my cabinets in the weekends, found this coaster set which I bought from Seoul back in 2003.
Besides the souvenirs, I also found some brochures and recipes that I have 'abandoned' for years. Among those this is one of my favorites - The Wonderful World of Korean Food~
I think many people will like it, all about Korean recipes. =)
So I decided to type out the recipes and share with all Korea fans.
There are lots of interesting facts about Korean cuisine.
Let's start from here... How to Cook Korean Food at Home.
First lesson - Bulgogi (Barbeque meat)
Bulgogi, along with Kimchi, is one of the most popular Korean dishes.
Bulgogi is seasoned with soy sauce and sugar, which make it mild and sweet - a taste that anyone can enjoy.
Ingredients:
Beef sirloin 600g
Onions
Scallions
Mushrooms
6 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of crushed sesame salt
2 tablespoons of sesame oil
1 tablespoon ground pepper
1 tablespoon molasses
1.5 tablespoons rice wine
Directions:
1. Slice the meat thinly against te grain then marinate in the rice wine and sugar for about 30 minutes.
2. Combine the soy sauce with minced garlic, scallions, crushed sesame salt, ground pepper and sesame oil.
3. Pour the soy sauce mixture from step 2 over the marinated meat, making sure that it has covered the meat evenly.
4. Pour the meat mixture onto a frying pan and cook over high heat.
5. When the meat seems to be almost fully cooked, add the sliced onions and mushrooms and cook until well done.
6. Rinse the vegetables, ready for decoration on the plate.
7. Mix soy sauce and garlic, this is for garnishing the meat.
8. Finally serve your barbeque meat with vegetable.
Korean food is fully natural, like nature itself. Sometimes it is simple, at other times, almost too decorative to eat. What do you think?
