If you ask my baby where to eat char siu (BBQ pork) in town, he'll definitely tell you let's go to Chulia Street. This is it, Wai Kee honey BBQ pork.
The stall is located at Sky Hotel along Chulia Street. Nearest landmark would be the AirAsia ticketing office. It's just 2 blocks away to the left.
The uncle aka boss is the only person to do the preparation of food. That's their way of quality control I guess.
This place is always full house during lunch hour even though the waiting time is about 30-45 minutes depending on how big the crowd is during your visit. The char siu always sold out very fast, so it's advisable that you reach the coffee shop at around 12pm to avoid disappointment.
We usually start off with a glass of lemonade + sour plum.
A bowl of yummy-licious water cress soup.
Crispy juicy BBQ pork (char siu). It's honey coated, chewy and fragrant.
Another choice... Chinese sausage (siu cheong).
Tender and juicy roasted pork (siu yok). Munch it... the skin is so crispy.
Not forgetting to order vegetable for a balance meal.
